Project 2: Repurposing
In Project 2, we were asked to repurpose a previous writing of ours. I decided to repurpose a piece from English 225 of how cognitive psychology can explain Islamophobia in today's media and society. Within Project 2, I created a memoir of pinnacle moments in my stepmom's life as an Islamic, Sudanese immigrant. By transforming a phone interview with her into an insightful piece of negative cultural stereotypes and hybrid culture, I hope to reveal an actual story that underlines the importance and problems of generalizing people from all cultures.
